General Questions
Q. Do you clean the inside of windows?
A. Yes, we do!
Q. How long does it take to get my job done?
A. Most cleaning projects we require no more than a day.
Q. How do I prep for a cleaning job?
A. Anything that requires two people to move needs to be moved. We will move small furniture and other items when we get there. If you have a lot of potted plants those should be moved.
Q. How do I keep my windows clean?
A. Frequent washing is the best way. It is also very helpful to avoid over spray from outdoor sprinklers, as this leads to water spots.
Q. Can you remove hard water stains?
A. Yes, we have a special process to remove rust colored staining. To keep stains from becoming to severe we suggest twice a year cleanings.
Q. How often should my home be cleaned?
A. For ideal viewing, windows should be washed 2-3 times per year, twice a year is common. For siding and roofing it really depends on the tree coverage, but typically 1-2 years is recommended.
Q. What is soft washing?
A. Soft washing is a cleaning process that uses chemical resistant pumps to apply sodium hypochlorite at low pressure to clean organic stains. Soft washing is the best method for removing moss, lichen, algae, mold and mildew for soft surfaces such as rooftops, siding, stucco and dryvit. Pressure washers can damage soft surfaces and void their warranty.
Q. Will soft washing harms my plants?
A. The main ingredient used for soft washing (sodium hypochlorite) is used for its ability to kill any organic matter that it first comes into contact with. Therefor creating a water barrier between the SH and any vegetation will prevent it from reacting directly with the plants. This is why we take vigorous precaution such as pre-wetting all surrounding plants, flowers, grass and trees before we spray any solution on the house. We also rinse the plants down immediately afterwards to further dilute it down and even take a third measure of spraying everything with a neutralizer which negates any remaining effects of the chemical. We want your house to shine and compliment the beauty surrounding it, making it appear as though we were never there.
Q. Will putting Rain-X on my windows keep them clean longer?
A. Rain-X is an effective product for car windshields but less than ideal for regular windows. There are two types of conditions on the outside surface of a glass pane that determine how it responds to moisture: Hydrophobic and hydrophilic. Hydrophobic glass will make the water molecules immediatly shy away from the surface and group together to create beads all over the glass. Rain-X makes glass hydrophobic so it can bead on your windshield and, while moving, let the wind carry the beads off of the glass. This does not have the same effect on regular vertical panes because there is no high velocity wind to carry the beads away causing them to leave spots on your windows as they dry. Windows that are treated to be “self cleaning” are designed with the purpose to make your glass hydrophilic so that the water can let gravity carry it down in sheets rather than beads that will dry more noticeably.
Q. Do you do cleaning of commercial properties?
